1.1 Background of the Study
Bullying is a pervasive issue affecting individuals in schools, workplaces, and communities, with significant psychological, social, and educational implications. In Lokoja Local Government Area (LGA), Kogi State, anti-bullying awareness campaigns have been implemented to foster a safer and more inclusive environment. Public relations (PR) campaigns play a critical role in disseminating information, promoting positive behavioral change, and mobilizing community support against bullying. According to Olatunji and Abubakar (2024), PR strategies such as community outreach, media advocacy, and stakeholder engagement are effective tools for raising awareness and reducing bullying incidents. This study evaluates the effectiveness of PR campaigns in promoting anti-bullying awareness in Lokoja LGA.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite efforts to address bullying in Lokoja LGA, the issue persists, with many victims suffering in silence due to stigma and a lack of awareness. While PR campaigns have been initiated to tackle this challenge, their effectiveness in creating widespread awareness and behavioral change remains underexplored.
